Breath of Balance
Spark Your Creativity

Hello and welcome to Breath of Balance where we talk about how to balance personal health and wellness in our daily lives.
For the relatively short amount of time I have existed in this crazy thing we call life. I have come to understand that it is not the great declarations of change that move us forward on our journey of discovering who we want to be in this life. It is the small practices, the moments that we spend in the pure presence of self, with a deep breath and smile knowing we got this.
It’s in those moments that we turn another degree closer to our true life’s direction.
Thank you, for choosing to come along with me.
In this weekly newsletter I will talk about the small things. The practices that I have used that have allowed me to find balance and the new topics and practices I will continue to learn along the way.
Spark Your Creativity
When we are children creativity is our spark, our energy, since the day we picked up our first crayons and scribbled color onto paper. With seemingly limitless imagination we create entire universes in our minds. Filled with brilliant characters, creatures, and doodads. We create and dream with our playful hearts until it is time for bed, where we drift off to sleep to dream even more.
As a adults however, it would appear that for most of us, that is no longer the case. As we grow up our playful scribbles become more and more trapped with in predetermined lines. Unfortunately in the effort to grow up and walk down the path to be “successful” in life. Children are often told, with good intention mind you, that there are more practical things to be done. We enter an educational system that more and more, seems to prioritize STEM (Science, Engineering, Technology, & Mathematics) curriculum over the creative arts. Don’t get me wrong I was a stem kid. I greatly enjoyed learning the nature of those subjects. However, I feel these subjects are all about in the box thinking. Yes there is creativity involved in these, but the majority of us reading this aren’t physicists using mathematics and science to research quantum physics to solve the mysteries of the universe. Most learned the material to get the grade, to get the degree, to get the job, because that was what we were told would make us successful and happy.
I personally am choosing to think outside the box again. If you would have told my past self that I would start writing a news letter and publish it online for people to read. I would’ve had a sense of fright shoot up my spine and started to get queasy. I am at a point in my life where I know that I don’t want the rest of it to be in “the predetermined lines”. That is why I started writing this newsletter. It is the first time in my life that I feel I started something that wasn’t already there for me. I created it. No one told me “I think you would be good at this”. I never even talked about it to anyone until I published the 4th letter. I started this because in order to find out who I truly want to be in this world I needed to be vulnerable. I needed to open up and give a piece of myself to the world and see what comes back. There is something so profoundly liberating about that. In writing these letters I have broken through walls and let go of things that I didn’t even know I was still holding on to.
Creation helps us discover ourselves anew, as well as, helps us express and process our emotions in productive ways. Creativity allows us to rekindle that playful spirit, reconnects us with our inner child, and allows us to once again explore the limitlessness of our imaginations. I implore you to start exploring you creativity, whatever it might be. The options are relatively endless it is creativity after all.
